'Full Moon Event'

This was painted in October 2004 after witnessing an incredible full moon rising above the Atlantic Ocean. The moon was very large and bright and it passed through a narrow band of clouds that looked more like fog.  As the moon cleared the band of clouds, the clouds were illuminated in a most spectacular way, which is why I refer to it as a "full moon event".  I have never seen anything like that and I remember it today as if it were a fresh memory.  But I really did not feel as if this painting captured the experience, although I like the colors in this piece of artwork.  I recently rediscovered this painting while moving some of my stored art around, and realized that I have never photographed this piece, much less tried it as a pattern.

This is a very "rich" pattern, even striking, if I do say so myself.  I could see the full pattern below as sheets, with the small pattern above as the pillow cases.  The pattern below would also make a beautiful robe or kimono.  Again, the possibilities are almost endless:  shower curtain, wrapping paper, upholstery, fabric for scarves, neckties, and shirts, plus much more.
